A mountain goat rests on a stormy, fall day in the high Beartooth Mountains. Just a few weeks earlier this land was an ocean of wildflowers, but today it awaits the first snow and will remain white for eight months. Goats like this one won't migrate to lower elevations, instead relying on their thick coat and harsh winds to blow snow from the tops of these peaks.
