Winner of the 2022 World Nature Photography Awards landscape category
In what may well be the greatest photograph that I ever capture, the June Milky Way streams over the Grand Tetons of Wyoming during an amazing show or airglow.
For this image, I hiked to the top of Table Mountain, gaining more than 4,000 feet of elevation over four miles, to spend the night a stone's throw from what are perhaps the most iconic mountains in the Continental US. The night was incredibly beautiful with soft light from a bright moon giving way to complete darkness filled with layer upon layer of stars.
