Curtains of rain fall over Elbow Lake, deep in Montana's Absaroka Beartooth Wilderness. This photo is the combination of 90 individual shots taken over the course of about 15 minutes while this evening storm approached.
The "Beartooth" is some of the most remote, rugged country in the Rocky Mountains, home to grizzly bears, mountains goats, wolverines and grey wolves. As I watched a day fade in this beautiful place, the scene looked more like the heavens gathering souls than falling rain.
