Morning dew clings to the hair-like stands of silk on a single milkweed seed lying on the edge of a Northern Vermont cornfield. I shot this image with Nikon's superb 200mm macro, using a focusing rail to take more than 170 photos to achieve tack-sharp focus across the entire image.
The orbs of water shine here in morning sun like individual worlds, each water droplet taking on its own life, revealing seldom-seen wonder.
This photo is available in two print sizes and is a cropped version of a much-larger image showing the entire seed. If you're interested in that photo, shown in the second image here, please make inquiries.
