Evening falls on the Madison Valley during mid-winter. While snow clouds form over the Sphinx, bands of sunlight stream onto the prairie as another day comes to a close.

This valley, famous for the river by the same name, is home to thousands of elk each winter, migrating out of the high country to spend the snowy months where there's better feed.
