July Showers

A summer storm rolls through the Beartooth Mountains before sunset along the Montana/Wyoming border, bringing nourishment to these high, alpine plains of diminutive blossoms. Here, at 10,000 feet above sea level, asters and arnica reach only a couple of inches tall while lupines bloom when they're a third the height of their lower-living relatives. Still, it's a sea of flowers at the height of this land's shortest season.

This is a medium-format photo, shot with Fuji's 102 megapixel GFX 100s for the very best in color transition and detail. It's available in a variety of sizes on three different mediums - archival photo paper, float-framed canvas, and ready-to-hang aluminum. Each size is limited to 11 copies, ships free to all lower 48 states, and comes signed and numbered.
