As the final, filtered light of a winter day touches the northern edge of Yellowstone National Park, a bison makes its way across a rocky ridge. These animals have remained largely unchanged for thousands of years, and though they were hunted to the brink of extinction in the 1800s, have made strong comebacks. While they will never roam the plains in the vast herds synonymous with the American West of old, they are inspiring animals. This is a 3:1 panorama at 8x24 inches.
