Winter is already making inroads all across the landscape of SW Montana during the middle of October. On a day that feels undeniably no longer like fall, cottonwoods reach for sunlight along the Yellowstone River where it flows at the foot of the Absaroka Beartooth Mountains, rising in the background.
Soon, the irrigation ditch seen in the foreground, will ice over as this entire scene turns white and the land settles into a long slumber.
This is a striking photo full of the emotion of changing seasons, complete with a dramatic sky and beautiful lighting. It is offered as both a print and on ready-to-hang aluminum.
