Montana's Glacier Lake, high in the Absaroka Wilderness, sits during a late-summer storm in the final moments of daylight. The Rocky Mountain twilight is brief, even during clear weather, and on this night I was so lost in photographing the lake that I didn't realize the day had entirely slipped away by the time I was finished. As I walked away, with lightning tearing the sky apart over hundreds of square miles of unbroken wilderness, I did so with the satisfied feeling of having captured a little of the world during a beautiful time.
