A yearling Montana pronghorn, known throughout its western range as an antelope, blends in with a wintery background during the middle of February. These animals are the fastest land mammal in North America, evolving alongside a now-extinct plains cheetah. They can reach speeds of 60mph and have the equivalent of 8-power binocular vision.
