The June sun sets in Lamar Valley in Yellowstone National Park over a large herd of bison and their new calves. This scene was like going back in time for me, getting a small glimpse of what things might have looked like more than a 100 years earlier. After I took this photo, instead of taking hundreds more the way I normally would, I simply enjoyed the moment, marveling over one of our greatest conservation success stories and the beauty of the natural world.
