A Vermont, male brook trout takes on its spawning colors, mimicking the shades of color in the hardwoods above his river. These trout are native to the cold, north-flowing waterways where I grew up, and this macro photograph shows why I believe they are the prettiest fish in New England.
This photograph, while incredibly detailed and bursting with natural color, has an abstract look that displays beautifully right up to the poster size 24x36.
