With a cirque of snow remaining along the Yellowstone River in the foreground, this photograph of the Milky Way over Haden Valley in Yellowstone Park has the appearance of a great eye. I love finding terrestrial locations that accentuate the arc of our galaxy overhead, and spent a long time deciding exactly where to set up for this May shoot. As the night grew darker and the snowdrift in front of me began to glow, the entire scene felt like something out of a fairytale. A tiny hint of aura completed this wonderful night when coyote sang nearby and further, on the edge of earshot, I heard wolves.
