This meadow is my favorite place on Earth. I found it in 2014 while exploring Wyoming's Big Horn Mountains, and spent an entire day watching hundreds of bees and butterflies rush to pollinate flowers during the alpine country's shortest season. The image you see here has been seven years in the making and is the culmination of hundreds and hundreds of hours of practice - of trial and error, or small encouragement, of nights spent alone in the wilderness with no photos to show for them, and finally a picture of the world as I see it. Simply put, this is one of the finest astrophotography photos ever taken, the crown jewel of my night skies work. It features the gorgeous core of our galaxy as well as Jupiter and Saturn.

To light this beautiful foreground, I hung headlamps, their lenses covered in wax paper to diffuse their beams, in a large fir behind me. I needed half an hour of complete, utter stillness, without so much as a puff of wind, and was fortunate to experience perfect conditions.

This is printed at 33x50 on archival-quality metallic paper, framed with a 2" clean linen mat, and a smooth, genuine, black wood frame. It is covered in the finest acrylic for complete UV resistance and anti-glare and comes signed and numbered. Edition size is 5.

This is the spot my ashes will rest someday.
