On a clear, windless night high in Montana's Spanish Peaks, the Milky Way arcs over Beehive Basin and is reflected in a small lake. This image is the combination of 47 pictures taken over several hours without ever moving my tripod. Some exposures used my Skywatcher star tracker, enabling shutter times in excess of three minutes, while others were "untracked" and much shorter after the moon rose to light this lovely foreground. After many hours of editing, the result is a view of our home galaxy above a tiny piece of Montana wilderness.
This piece of art is available at 23x46" printed on Pure Art Printer's proprietary ready-to-hang metal. This is absolutely the best way to display these galactic landscapes with accurate color, amazing detail, and edge-to-edge contrast. Shipping is included with the purchase price to all lower-48 states.
