The Lower Falls of the Yellowstone River, one of America's most iconic waterfalls, plunges off volcanic rock in the heart of Yellowstone National Park during a late fall sunset.
I find that warm weather during autumn has the potential for wonderful sunsets, often featuring long bands of colorful clouds reaching further into the southern sky than during the peak of summer. On this evening, shortly before most roads closed inside Yellowstone, I was lucky to witness one of the year's finest sunsets from one of the nation's most beautiful overlooks.
