It's hard to imagine the force it took to carry this massive tree down the Yellowstone River during the historic flood of 2021. This is the largest piece of "driftwood" that I've found in Montana, and will likely remain beached on this gravel bar for many years to come. It's a striking scene in black and white, a tribute to the power of nature.
