The Yellowstone River's historic flood on June 13, 2022 left a trail of devastation stretching all across SW Montana. Fueled by heavy rain and very rapid snow melt, the unprecedented event washed away homes, bridges, and roads.
A day later, as waters began to slowly recede, I watched a sunrise in Livingston. There was an eerie sense of calm as the day began, a palpable understanding that Nature is still the most powerful force on the planet.
