A lone tepee stands on the edge of the Missouri River Breaks in Eastern Montana. I purposefully left a tiny bit of color in the foreground to give this photo a sense of age. It wasn't long ago when the tepee was the main form of shelter in this country, providing an efficient, portable home to thousands of Native Americans. Great herds of bison roamed this land, grizzly bears traveled up and down the Eastern Missouri, and wolves howled here at night. I often try to imagine what Montana was like then.

This photograph is offered in several sizes on archival quality photo paper, float framed canvas, and ready-to-hang aluminum. Each size is limited to 11 copies, ships free to all lower 48 states, and comes signed and numbered.
