A huge bull bison thinks about climbing out of Soda Butte Creek in Yellowstone National Park on a morning when the temperature fell to nine below zero. With snow up well over his belly, he decided to look for an easier place to exit the frigid water, eventually wading upstream more than half a mile.
I shot this black and white photo with Fuji's incredible GFX 100s camera, making use of all its 102 megapixels. Each hair is defined and the scene transitions with butter smoothness.
